SPM-12 9” review

Thought I would post a quick review since I haven’t seen any. I asked the LGS to bring one in for me. I’ve tried #8, 00 buckshot and slugs out of it. It’s lots of fun.

Pros:
Mags seat easily on a closed bolt.
Single point sling is nice and not a pendulum of pain
Adjustable comb
10 round mag
Recoil spring will load a round by itself

Cons:
Screw on foregrip catches my hand
Breacher choke catches on my knee when using sling
Action doesn’t lock
Rail is flimsy. I might remove it and put a red dot on it.

Just an fyi. You can reverse the foregrip screw so it doesn't snag the hand and if you use a small drum sanding bit and remove the taper inside the foregrip it holds a shell perfectly. The cap actually fits on the end of the shell....handy, JIC.

How does the vertical grip work with the 10 round box mag?

I found it awkward with my 14" Sinisatti pump.

Foregrip is fine, lots of travel. Can even use it folded forward.

Is this something I need in my life? It looks like a gun from a cheesy 80's action flick, so I think I do need it.

The tacticool factor is off the scale with this one.

I shot one that belongs to a friend. I hated it at first, but after a number of adjustments I grew to merely dislike it.

Would not feed any more than 2 rounds from the magazine (he only had one kind of ammo available to try in it). Comb had to be adjusted to maximum height to even start to get a sight picture. Vertical grip felt very awkward to me.

I wouldn't use it for hunting or skeet shooting but for taking down small trees in the backyard it's awesome!
