Does any one know who makes plastic sporter stock for a p1917 ?
Or wood stock ?
Are these stocks compatable with other guns ?
I have a BSA made sporter of the Enfield 1917 but the stock has seen better days
Bell & Carlson makes a really good fiberglass stock for the P14 and Pattern of 1917 rifles.
I used to own a BSA in .30-06 and it was a nice drop in fit. I did file down a little bit inside of it though to accept a Timney Sportsman's trigger. The rifle was already accurate and the Timney helped shrink the groups even more.
It would probably be a good candidate for pillar bedding too, but I never got around to it before I foolishly traded it away. Just be careful not to get any cleaning solvent on the stock as it will melt the finish.
IIRC the Redfield Jr. base for the Winchester '70 was the best one piece base I could find. Add a good scope and you're laughing.
