I thought pistol shooting was addictive.

Just came home from a 'sporting clay' shoot with Ty, John, and Len. I only managed 27 of 100, but boy did I have fun. PULL ! ! !

The wife has already tossed me outside (ala Dino from Flintstones) 'cause I won't stop talking about how fun it was.

Seems my son Justin, likes it too, if he can keep score and drive the golf cart!

I agree!

I went with my dad for the first time on father's day at the Vancouver Gun Club in Richmond and we had a blast, so to speak. Besides the variety of targets at the different stations, I love how it creates a great social atmosphere.

Sort of like golf, with a 12 gauge!

Abman, don't tease - which U/O did you choose? This is a gun board, after all.

I agree that SC is the most fun you can have with your clothes on. It is so entertaining that I have a hard time shooting seriously. Trying out different techniques and alternate intercept points is so amusing that I cannot say I have ever shot a full round strictly for score. The clays courses around here are no real handicap for sub gauge guns, so the 28 gauge guns are my tool of choice. The ammo is a lot lighter to haul around, as well.

Sporting clays rekindled my interest in shotgun sports some years back and I'm still at it. Trap had lost its allure and skeet doesn't give me the same satisfaction. I'm fortunate to have a club within 20 minutes of home with a wide range of target presentations from mild to wild.

Mmmmm....28 gauge. My favourite gauge. Light recoiling and surprisingly effective even at longer targets.

Same as you Claybuster. Trap became too competitive and Skeet just bored the hell out of me. Then I read an article about Sporting (was called Hunters Clays then) and along with a couple of buddies we tried different presentations etc. and the rest is history. Still like Trap and Skeet (low gun start) now and then but my real meat is Sporting.:) Have shot lots of Clays with a Rem 1100 28ga. and it is sweeeeeet. :D
