i started shotgun shooting appx 2 yrs ago and on my first shoot it was 0 out of 25...as time went along i got a lot of help from a lot of gentlemen and my score are now averaging 60% in sporting/5stand...skeet is about 50%...

i am now more keen to improve these scores even more and would like to know what is the best place/person for getting some lessons/instruction from...

i am planning to join oshawa shooting club this weekend and plan to do most of my shooting at oshawa/uxbridge/tits.

thank you gentlemen

A couple of years ago I met a fellow named Rick Sheridan who was doing some skeet instruction at Oshawa. I don't know if he's still around but I'm sure the folks at Oshawa would know.

Rick Sheridan is still around Oshawa. It doesn't appear that he's been doing a whole lot of shooting lately...not registered targets anyway. Don't know if he's doing any coaching or not.

At the very least....whatever club you may join, or shoot at, I'd suggest you check people out and try to hook up with an experienced shooter who can watch you and perhaps help where needed. When I first started shooting skeet, my mentor was probably the best shooter at my club....AA class in all gauges. He taught me the fundamentals and was able to watch me and correct mistakes I was making as we went along. Without having ready access to the "professional" instructors out there like Bender and others up here in Canada, I think this is the best scenario you can come up with for instruction and help.

ric Sheridian

I got back into shooting about 15 months ago.
this time around I decided to take lessons.
Ric has been my Coach all this time and my shooting has improved 100%.
He is a excellent coach, one of the few in Canada that is certified to coach.
he has not been shooting much, but coaches me and a few others weekly.
he instructs 'first timers' to major competitors.

Paul,

I was lucky enough to shoot with Ric Sheridan in July at the Knotty Pine Skeet Club and he gave me one tip that helped me go out and break my best score ever (99). I would certainly recommend him as a coach to anyone. I believe he has a Level 3 Certification, and as stated before by a previous poster, can help anyone from a novice up to experienced. If you want to, please send me a personal e-mail, and I can get you Ric's contact information.

Weather permitting I will be @ Oshawa club on Sat. with Ric .
His contact info is #1-905-263-1047 or email : 2on8@sprint.ca
(how apropriate!)
I don't look at him as a coach, but just as credible witness when (if ever) I get 25 straight
