Eagle Optics Denaly 15-45 power birding scope. Not a "greatest" scope but decent mid class, it was a good value for the money.
I have this spotting scope and served me well over fifteen years during my archery target tournaments use. I was mostly competing in long - 90 to 120 Meters distances with decent outcome. I could see crisp sharp holes in target face @ 100-120 pretty clear, (arrows diameter about a same as the 22 rimfire).
Fast forward to last weekend, I started sighting in my 308 built project gun at 200 and 300 Meters. And the rain started at mid day, dark sky a lot of moisture in the air.
I had a hard time seeing my POI at 200 on a f-class 200 rings in the black background with my Falcon scope 10-50x60, and the 300 became just a pure guess work. I could see the groups size and all holes in white, but not in black background.
Got home from a club, and pulled out this my old spotter hidden deep from the locker. Looking at it right now, I don't see any screw or fastener or bayonet to get the eye piece loose and I don't want to force it.
The company closed the production in 2017 and Vortex toke over the life time warranty service.
But nothing bad with this spotter, only my idea is not really a conventional....
How can I extend the power and extra 10% or 20% would be even better? I would like to talk to an optician with tools and knowledge.
>> As a side note I could manage on some of my older lower cost scopes to move the focus rings to shorter distances (from 20M to 5M for example) by moving the front lens ring, so I know the possible or not ... and in this my new case with a spotter the power lens shall be replaceable as well with tools that can remove the eye piece <<<
Any advise for optics mechanic - service or business?
