Currently I have FOUR spotting scopes. One of them is my personal rig a Bushy Legend Tactical FFP 15-45x 60mm that is sitting in a cover made by Triad Tactical down in the USA....
My other three scopes are loaners for my clients at the PR matches generously hosted by ChalkRiver2 at the Garrison Petawawa Gun Club. They are all strategically chosen Bushnell SpaceMaster scopes. All of them share a vintage that goes back a couple of decades and they perform their jobs quite well. My eyepieces vary from 20x to 22 WA to 15-45x.
I needed scope covers to protecting heir finish(es) from bouncing around their milk crate storage/ transport in my Tacoma to and from my garage to Petawawa’s Bravo Range on the weekends. I started out with Neoprene wine bottle coozies found at various Dollar Stores and garage sales.
I ended up finally selecting Butler Creek flip up eye piece covers ($12) and also objective covers #51
I was able to secure the #51 objective cover with a bit of duct tape to the aluminum body. Then using (gotta use multi cam just because : Sniper) vet wrap from Amazon dot com, I wrapped that aluminum scope body with that bump protective wrap which does a great job form fitting to the scopes’ contoured bodies. Then I stopped just short of the focus knob.
Now the scopes are protected from slight bumps and scratches from transport.
I realize it’s not quite the most tactical way , but sure looks decent for an inexpensive approach. Besides, nobody is deploying overseas with any of my scopes so it’s all good!
Hope this helps the scope protection situation!!
Cheers, Barney
