I am interested in purchasing a spotting scope for at the range.
All I need to do is look down range 50yds -250 yds to see my hits on the target.
Can you suggest some scopes... and roughly how much it will cost me?.

Thanks a bunch:)

for your distance any cheapish scope will suffice. I recommend getting a quality spotter though - it will last forever and you may well, one day, shoot out to further distances. My spotter is a Pentax 80 ED and I couldn't find better without going to Kowa. Can price is about $1800 - cheaper in the US ( I got mine from Cameraland NY )

I bought a redfield spotter about 2 years ago and really like it for at the range. It was 200 on sale from cabelas and came with a crappy tripod and soft case. If all you want to use it for is at the range i would highly reccomend it, if you want to carry it though, I wouldnt buy it. I rarely carry it myself due to it being big and heavy. Wish I would have spent a few more dollars on a more compact one for hunting.

Cheers

i got a 60x celestron from canadian tire for 75 bucks it was on sale. i think they are about 150 when not on sale. mine works fine for me when shooting out to 200meters

Just picked up a Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 20-60x80 and looked through it the first time today. I was able to see individual pine needles between the cedar shakes on the roof of a house 3 doors down the block. $385 US. I'll bring it to the range next week.
