Spotting Scope w Reticle?

The Vortex Razor HD spotting scopes aren't too crazy ($1500 ish) and have an eyepiece with either MOA or MRAD ranging reticules you can buy ($250 or so). Maybe this is in the realm of ridiculously expensive, but they're the cheapest option I'm aware of. I don't think the Viper series spotting scopes has a ranging reticule option, but may be mistaken.

Optolyth TBS 80 with 30xWW/S eyepiece (mil).

Vortex Razor HD with 30x WA eyepiece (mil or moa).

Leupold MK4 20-60x80 with TMR reticle.

Bushnell used to make the "Excursion" model with a reticle. It was a great buy at less than $500. Sadly they're discontinued and used ones rarely come up for sale. US Optics makes a reasonably priced reticle spotter but the excessively long eye relief makes it a bit quirky to use.

Easiest would be to spot through your scope.

I am thinking of getting a sticker made with laser etched lines. Put it in the lower section of the lense so it doesn't distort the image too much????

Might just start with using a jiffy marker and see how that looks.

Has to be a simple solution.

Shot correction. Spotter corrects the shooters shot by giving him mrad elev/windage numbers to dial on his turret. Next one hits the target.

This! It is difficult for spotter to estimate corrections at high magnifications from very long distances. A Mil or MOA graduation is way easier and more precise.

I was hoping to find something in the $500 to $700 range but the cheapest I can find is ca $1500.

We have the Bushnell Elite Tactical LMSS 8-40x60mm with Horus H32 in stock: $1699. Hard to find in Canada. Works beautifully with the Horus reticle system, which is the benchmark and easiest to implement "second shot" shooter/spotter system available.

You'll find it towards the bottom of the post:

My experience with the cheaper high magnification scopes has been that they lack the resolution and optical clarity to see things a good quality lower power rifle scope can pick up. In the end your spotting scope will need to be of equal or better optical quality than your rifle scope. In the $500-$700 range that does not leave you any good options I can think of.

I've been using a vortex razor HD with mil and moa eye pieces for over a year now and it's been working great. It's nice to have a break from laying behind the rifle and still be able to give quick and accurate corrections while spotting.
