The main to rounds i shoot are .22 and .223. I have a cheap spotting scope and its killing my eyes to focus for a long time.

What is a middle of the road spotting scope that wont break the bank?

price ranges would be nice, ie.

-$100
-$200
-$300

thanks!

Konus is pretty good for the price.
I bought this one here a few years ago,

Hear a lot of good reviews about kowa, don't own one but hear guys eyes don't get tired. Afraid you will have to go over the $500 range to get one that won't kill your eye. just imagine what eye glasses cost and thats only two little lenses. Buy a good one or take your quad so you can quickly head down range and back and check your shots.

Vortex makes two different spotters that would work for you, the Impact which retails for about $230, and the Nomad which you should find for about $370. Of the two mentioned, the Nomad stands head and shoulders above the Impact. Plus it has an unconditional lifetime warranty.

:D

There really isn't anything in your price point that won't be some what hard on your eyes viewing for a long time. That said a used Bushnell Spacemaster might fit the bill?

I bought a Vanguard VSH Platinum Series 15-45 x 60mm waterproof spotting scope from Le Baron in Markham. It was on clearance for $225 + tax. They retail for well over $300. It has been stellar at the range, where at 100 metres, I can very clearly see the bullet holes in my targets. It comes in a nice quality carry case and includes a bunch of accessories, including a solid metal tripod and scope mount. I think its alot of value for the money.

At least with a range spotter you won't be spending hours looking through it so you can get away with buying a cheaper one than if you were to be using it out sheep hunting.

found the Konus 7120, 300$ shipped from optics planet. .223 and .22 shots at 200 yards can ben seen. 650 yards can see a 1" letter. Sounds like a good bang for the buck. Have to post when i get it next week. Good range scope, not hunting, is what i read.
