Spotting Scopes

hey folks. my dad's talking about getting a spotting scope for this coming season. however, 600 bucks is pretty much the limit. what yould you guys suggest? i looked at the Bushnell Compact and the Leupold Seqouia on the wholesale website. are these decent scopes? anything else we should look at?

I would be looking at the elite compact 15x45x60.It is a good value for the money.
