SPR Muzzle Velocity?

I'm putting together an SPR, but haven't cut into my Lothar Walther blank yet.
Most likely, it'll be an 18" barrel.
I am wondering if anyone knows what velocity to expect from the 77grain SMK leaving an 18" barrel. Twenty inch?
I'd like to mimic the Mk262 Mod 0 and get a Leupold M3 BDC knob made for it.

I am doing a wag calculation here, so I am going to suggest around 2850-3050 gps. If the wag isn't good enough, you can google AR muzzle velocities - I know this has been posted somewhere before.

IIRC it is around 2850 - which in my experience of handloading the 77SMK is a hot load. You definately do not need to load them as hot as the MK262 spec for them to shoot well.

Molon posted the following velocities for NATO pressure 75 to 77 gr loads:
MK262: 77 SMK (2830 fps)
MK262: 75 Nosler (2848 fps)
Hornady 75 TAP 5.56 T2 (2821 fps)

You can get TAC from Proline here in Calgary. I think IIRC BDX imports and distributes it.
