A little history and info for you all...

The ISSF match is geared towards TR and FTR. Sierra Bullets sponsors the match and 155g bullets are the prize. Real ISSF is shot with many rules, right down to the jacket, boots, sling, rifle dimensions and gloves etc., and is to be shot from under a covered firing point, prone with a sling. We don't do have a covered firing point or tarps, nor do we make you use special gloves or boots nor enforce them. We all shoot it for fun, including Fclass supported. A good plan is to flip every 21st round over in your ammo box so you know to call for a new record target, done after you have fired 20 record shots, and at this point, it is wise to stand down for a short period, to let your rifle barrel cool off some. The ISSF target is really big IMO, the 10 ring just under 4" (100 mm = 3.937007874") but still challenging to stay in there for 60 shots at 300m. The course of fire is string, one guy per target.

The Driller's match is geared for FClass type shooting since we use DCRA TR 300m targets at 600 yds for the group/score morning portion with an added smaller 12" target that you have to keep your 5 shot group on or you get a DNQ (string fire - IBS 600 yd Light gun rules) and again in the afternoon DCRA TR 300m at 600 yds, DCRA TR 500 yd targets at 800 and 1000 yds (pairs fire). The Driller's was invented before the days of the wee vee aka 0.50 MOA centers. Since FOpen Fclass rifles can be up to 10kg, we do not hold you to the 17.5 lb weight max allowed in IBS 600 yd light gun rules.

It is a weekend of fun, lots of different shooting, and usually a great bunch of like minded competitors! I have 18 guys that say they are coming and another 12 maybe's so it will be a full house!

The web site says limited to 36 guys but we always try to accommodate everyone, even if it means a fourth relay! We have 7 targets to work with for this weekend.

Hope to see ya out for this match. The weather is still looking great too!

A VERY BIG THANKS goes out to the lady RSO for many of these events this weekend, Vicky Armstrong. You did a very great job and run a great line!! And a big thanks goes out to Gord Hulbert for some grass cutting and as always, a very filling feast on Saturday night. Also, a super big thanks to Cary Tarasoff for designing a fix for the high berm red flag issue we have had for many months. It was so nice to see that fixed! And as always, thanks to Kiwi and his crew for pulling targets!

Congrats to all of you, great shooting my friends!

We managed to stay dry Saturday, relay 3 got a pretty good soaking Sunday in the morning group score, and we all got a little wet at the 1000 in the Mini-Palma. We hope to have the 2a/2b - 2/2a - 2/lazy 7 issues resolved making it 2 and X so there is no confusion ever again!
