Well the weather was great, sunny and the usual tricky Nokomis Winds this weekend. Mostly a south east wind on Friday and Saturday, then increasing in velocity and switching some all days and Sunday with gusts over 40 k/hr and fast swings from 4 all the way around to 9 o'clock. Mostly sunny and temps from 15 to 25C. The winds were so high by Sunday afternoon that the match committee decided to have us shoot 300 and twice at 600 instead of the planned 600, 900 and 1000 yd since the target crew (kids) could get hurt if a LongRange DCRA target happened to get blown out of it's target frame. Late Sunday, the winds had made it's way around to a 12 (North) wind!
Here are the results. Some 2nd and 3rd place awards may have been missed on this spreadsheet since I took a picture of the match results and during the awards, some extra 2nd's and 3rd's were awarded.
In the future, I will not be posting any scores online, that will be the stats/sec. persons' job(Chuck L.), not mine, he gets paid for it!! SOoooo if you come and want the results, bring a camera since Chuck does the results on paper and does not send out the results like I did, here's my pic...
The AGM was held (probably unconstitutionally [but hard to tell since we do not have a copy at the clubhouse...] since neither the President nor the Vic-Pres were present for the start of the AGM) on Friday after the Palma. In the future, I would think the executive
must post the AGM's date and time on their website, or notify it's members in advance.
NOTE: The new "day-rate" for "paying by the day" has been increased to $40, but the multi-day rate of $30 per day stays the same. This is to encourage all shooters to pay for all the days (even if it may rain and you know you will not shoot) up front. Their reasoning was the target crew gets paid regardless of the weather and if it is raining, then the fees turn into donations from the shooters and not entry fees and pays for the target crew. If the SPRA doesn't pay 'em all the time they may stop the service they provide.
