Spray on bedliner finish

I saw a few people redo their SKS and M14 stocks with spray on truck bedliner...looked cool, so I thought I'd do up a very tactical looking single shot Sureshot
Now that I've got the stock done (it actually looks kinda cool!), I was just wondering about doing the barrel...it sure has a hard finish this stuff. Some people paint their barrels, so I don't see why this would be much different. It's not like I'll be putting hundreds of rounds through it either...maybe 10-15 a month at best. What do you folks think? The barrel does not have a great finish on it anyways (surface rust, scratches, etc...). I was even thinking of shortning the barrel to 20"...
Your thoughts?

Honestly, I would just paint the barrel flat black. I don't think you'll have any problem getting the bedliner spray to stick, but the whole point of it is to improve grip and you don't hang onto the barrel while shooting. If I was going to do this to a gun (not likely, I like wood and blue) I would do only the pistol grip and the fore-end then paint the whole thing afterwards. I don't think I would like the feel of that texture on the comb against my face. Thats just my preference though, if you have pics, post them, I'm interested to see it.

I'd like to post pics, but can't...I have one shot (before/after) that I could post. I ended up just doing the stock and action, and very gently cleaned up the barrel (I had it shortened as well). Is there anyone that can post the photo for me...It kinda looks like one of those NEF Wilderness guns.
I think it looks cool
