spring bear hunt?

Never named a party did I? I am fully aware that the spring bear hunt was canned in 1999 under the Harris government...one of a list of many blunders, but I would still vote for him over our current dictator!
My insinuation was that you would never see it reinstated under a liberal (or ndp for that matter) government.

Ontario out of doors magazine interviewed the leaders of all the political parties before the last election. One of the questions posed was "would you consider re-instating the spring bear hunt?" Every party leader, conservative John Tory included answered no (not even maybe). I voted conservative anyway, just in case your wondering.

You won't be forever... unless your like a cousin of mine. BTW wouldn't your spring exams interfere with bear season anyway?

You're comment is somewhat misleading. Although the Conservatives did cancel the spring hunt, it was done so for fear of a defeat in the election being fought. Robert Shad threatened to expose Harris' affair unless the latter cancelled the hunt. The threat was credible since the polls showed a very close race particularly in regions where incumbents won by very narrow margins in the previous election.
Harris, being from the North really didn't want to do this but in weighing that versus losing the election, guess what he chose!

I'm not sure what you think is misleading about my post. Harris chose to abolish the spring hunt, that is fact, regardless of the reasoning behind it.
