Springfield 1903

I was wondering if someone could tell me if a 1903A3 barrel will fit in a 1903A1 receiver. I know the rifle twist is different and not correct for A1, just trying to make accurate shooter out of it first. Thanks for your help.

The barrel will fit, but there is no provision for a rear sight on the barrel. If you are using a 'scope or a receiver sight, this is irrelevant.
How is the rifling twist different?
