Hello, I thought I would share my thoughts on my the springfield 1911 a1. I bought this gun used and I LOVE it. It came with a threaded barrel, and threaded compensator. I added a skeltonozed trigger, extended mag release, and g10 grips. The comp reduces recoil SIGNIFICANTLY. It has less recoil than my glock 17, or my fmk 9c1 g2. I highly suggest a threaded comp over a bushing comp. The only down fall is I have novak 3 dot sights, and the front sight gets dirty after about 200 rounds and requires a quick wipe. My plans for the future are to get a cleaner beavertail safety as I have the ugly traditiona 1911 style, and skeltonized hammer. Standing at 25 yards outside, I shot 2" groups with 230gr ball ammo. The trigger is going to require some extra work as me and both another advanced shooter found it breaks slightly left. Overall this is a great 1911. And NEVER get a bushing comp. Threaded all the way.
