I recently acquired an old Springfield 87A, its rough but seems to function reasonably well. Looks like its had a hard existence, the rear sight has been replaced by a Marbles V notch and the front sight post is broken off. My old eyes would rather I scoped it, but the receiver is neither tapped or grooved. I really would rather not drill the receiver. Looking at Skinner's peeps that drift into the existing dovetails as an option. Anyone familiar with or has this system ? Any thoughts on another option for this old .22 ?
