Went to the Wildwest shooting on my usual stopby's when I do go to the West Edmonton mall to check out guns.

Talking to one of the salesman at the store last week & he told me, he talked to the distributor of these fine rifles & they told him that they will not ship these to Canada no more!!

Lack of demand in our country & the US??

Wolverine is an importer. They might be a better source.

Still, don't lament if they don't do Canada anymore. There ain't much in there cataloge we can't get here cheaper or better made.

I loved my first two SA 1911's, but there is nothing making me want to buy another. From the #####ing I hear about the out od spec M1A parts, I doubt it's a great loss.

My guess is the salesman is wrong, but who knows.

Take what those guys say with a grain of salt.

I went there when i got my Mark23, and they were falling over themselves to sell it to me (didn't matter because i planned it already) and saying "its discontinued!!!" and here we are 2 years later with Mark23's still in production.

Its the standard "we dont have it, so nobody does" trick, so they can try and sell you something else that they do have ;)

Btw, this is my first post here, been a gun owner for a couple years (been on HKpro for a year and a half), so im fairly new, but I finally decided to make an account here :D

I buy ammo from them from time to time. They due tend to try and scare me into buy more at a time with stories of how they can't get anymore from the US and how no one can. Nice to deal with other than that ;)

i think the problem is the UN gun marking law, coming into effect in a couple days. Many U.S. distributors and firearm manufacturers are rumoured to be closing thier doors to canadian sales. There is lots of info on this in other parts of the site, do a search on Bill C10A

Well not like it means much but I do have a Springfield Armory Loaded M1A on order with Gobles Gun & Tackle that is supposed to arrive in mid-January with their January shipment. :D

the only way to know for sure is to directly contact the springfield customer service department. I'd do it but..... I have it on good authority that I'm better off buying a chinese m14s that is already in canada than to gamble with a "sproingfield".

it would not surprise me to see them not want to sell to canadians. I was at a wholesalers convention last february at the Reno trade and convention center. ALL the top names in tactical gear and weapons were on hand... Armalite, springfield..... well... all of em were there.... 175 booths of guns, clothing and stuff. i approached the springfield booth and they were eager to show me and let me play with all thier VERY cool toys..... untill I let it slip that I was from Canada..... it was like a switch got thrown.... they were DICKS after that and refused to let me look and "feel" the pistols after already toying with several m1a's on display. The Armalite crew were awesome..... holding thier big AR-50 and the new AR-30.... i still get wood thinkin about it :D

Well if Gobles ordered with their Distributor who contacted Springfield on a ETA for the shipment that can come up in January (including the rifle I ordered) I think thats a pretty good bet its just gun store rumors. By the way there is another batch coming up this month (December), sadly no Loaded M1A's with Walnut stocks were on that order so I got to wait. :(

But hey customer service has been great, racked up alot of phone time with them trying to sort it out and settling on waiting till January for the specific model I want so I can't complain! :dancingbanana:
