I know .45 is expensive to shoot, but my grandfather is going to teach me how to reload my own rounds (he's been doing it since before I was born). Does anyone have experience with this pistol? I've e-mail Ryan at Wolverine Supplies to see if he can get them, and plan on getting the Parkerized finish. I don't know whether to get this or the Beretta first.

you cannot go wrong with that milspec. I have one love it. Nothing really has to be changed. Accuracy is great. Even the trigger is good.. The only thing I would change are the grips. However with the beretta if it is a 9mm you can shoot without reloading because the cost of 9mm. And the beretta is a great pistol as well.

Springfield 45

The Springfield and Beretta are both excellent, but at the same time very different. A 1911 in .45 is a must in any collection and so is DA/SA 9mm like the Beretta. Having said that I would first get myself the Sprindfield.

Corey3, everything does not have to be new. What do I mean? Why not look at used pistol? What do I have in mind? See if you cand find a used Springer 1911A1 (Loaded). This is mine, no you can not have it, but it is a great pistol. Regards, Richard :D
