So I found this at Brownells, seems like it's a close match to the Smith Ent. Muzzle Brake. It even comes with all the tools I need to change it over (Castle nut pliers & Allen keys). This may be a cheaper but effective alternative to the expensive SE ones. It lists at 89 bucks, with my discount I snagged it for about 67 bucks.

Uh, yea, lot of people have. Actually five months ago the guy on the next bench had one on his M-14. He said it didn't do much for recoil at all, but it does nearly eliminate muzzle climb. It's a decent choice for those on a budget. Myself I don't have money to budget, so I'm sticking with the flashider! :D But I don't really need a brake at all anyway.

? I found it lessened and changed the recoil from a smack to a push, easier to control. A must have for me from now on along with the buttpad in the pic. Also at Brownell's.

They are fine. SA inc got the idea for the break by making a knock off of a
BM59 muzzle break for the M1A. SA inc. got the idea when Bob Reese imported tons of BM59 Parts from Italy an noticed how well the BM59 tricomp worked.

I have that brake on 2 of my m-305,s it does make a difference in the recoil and the muzzle climb is lessened. It looks better in person than the pics Brownells supplies.

I have this brake and find that it both lessens recoil and muzzle rise/jump. I'd love to get a SEI one as well, I'm curious how noticeable, if at all, the difference is

I saw a video from Smith Enterprises showing a full auto 20 round mag dump...steady and flat...impressive for 7.62 Nato!

Bit on the pricey side though...

I've got a Smith brake and wouldn't trade it for the world. Can't say how it stacks up against the Springfield brake, but it pretty much killed recoil and muzzle climb. When shooting, I am more aware of the op rod movement than I am of the recoil.
