first. this i expect will yield a low number of replies due to the fact that unless you have first hand experience or hints, there's not much you can assist me with. thanks for looking and giving it a shot though :)

being a fan of large caliber sbr's i thought i'd try the venerable m1a platform. not to be confused with the m14 (non civilian), the m1a i chose was the springfield socomII with black stock and extended rail.
this rifle is paid in full and has been on order since the first week of april 2008. my funshop used fn sports to import the rifle blah blah blah. at the time of order i was told by both fn (through funshop) and springfield (personally over the phone) that it would be in the area of 4 months for delivery. my funshop told me he thought that was a optimistic time frame, and warned me to get used to at least a 6 month wait.
well its been over 10 months now, and i still wait for the delivery of this rifle. is this common place in any ones experience. i was told in late november/early december by springfield (donna rahn, export manager) that springfield was waiting for delivery of the rails from the supplier.

i guess i'm looking for advice if any other than more patience, that might speed this insanely slow process up a little.

fwiw. my wife just ordered a savage weather warrior in .308, i wonder what the odds are that she gets hers before i get mine :(

Wrong area to post in. This should be in main battle rifle's thread. But to answer your thread I order a rifle from wholesale sporting goods and was told the same bs then I stumbled apon the excat rifle I wanted in a local guns shop. As for your socom I fondeled it in Reliable last month.

maybe a mod can move this please.

thanks satain, just thought that with it being a non custom order the wait would of been minimal.
i'm just #####'n i guess.

I hate to say it.. but suck it up buttercup! ;)

FN is at the mercy of Springfield... and Springfield is at the mercy of VLTOR. There is not much that can be done, but having owned two SOCOM II's in the past, I can honestly say they are worth it. A little front heavy... but worth it.
