Flash hiders are articles of war so my guess would be that they can't be exported. Muzzle brakes however are not classed as articles of war and are exportable.
This is why the springfield muzzle brake can be ordered but not the flash hider.
I could be wrong but the above is my understanding of current U.S. Export rules for firearm parts.

I had no luck getting a muzzle brake from south of the border. seems to be on the banned list according to brownells.Isn't that the funniest or oddest situation eh? So if you love muzzle brakes, you are good to go!
Cheers,
Barney
Yeah, looking for a NM without the bayo lug
Actually, I just got through to Springfield Armory's export person (Kelly, last week) and she said she would/could still send me a flash hider to Canada. I wonder what's going on?Sadly, nope. I phoned them recently and their "export" service answer me they don't.
I got an email from Midway last week too stating that they will not ship internationallyBrownells or Midway can fill your order.
