It seems like a very low price even for the US. If it is below cost, there are likely very few available and the dealer has very specific reasons for putting on the sale. They may be discontinuing the sale of this item for example? If you take a look at Guns America, you'll see the prices for the M1A are higher: more like $1600 for the M1A Standard with Black Synthetic... .

Auction no. 957487269 looks very interesting though, no reserve at $910... . I'd be a bidder.
 
Agree with above. In some States, certain Springfield rifle models are not that easy to find; when the SOCOMs came out they were pretty popular. Ruger had to stop taking orders last year just to catch up with those outstanding; if it were like that up here, our dreams might come true.

Back with the Colt M4, yes, that really makes me sick. And it's the reason why I recently picked up the Norinco CQ less than half that price.
