Springfield GI 1911A1: Worth it?

Not that it matters but I have five 1911's. Two of my Norincos have been extensively worked on by Dlask and Gunnar. The third is bone stock. The latter is as close to a GI mil=spec gun as you are going to get. Buy it from Marstar, out of the box it probably is GI quality. Yes you can spend a dime or two to have Gunnar do a trigger job on it but my Norinco I left basic is my Bush gun, never once has given me an oz. of trouble which is more than I can say about my STI Trojan and Para.

The Norinco A1 is what you are looking for IF all you want is a basic "GI" style gun. Far better choice than Springfield GI or the Colt GI repro. The NOrinco digests LSWC, and RN bullets like poop thru a goose and is as accurate as I can shoot given the mil spec sights sitting on it.

If you want something new ,that'll look at home in a WW2 holster ,you can't go wrong with the Springfield G.I. .you should all so look at the Auto-ordance WW2 Parkerized,It has the right roll marks on the side .
I was looking for the same thing ,something that would look at home in a WW2 holster,got a Springer,works for me.Don't know much about the A-O aside from its based on the Series 80.
You should be able to find them for under $700.
As for the Norinco,It looks more like what Colt was making in the 70's,Well it is based on the Series 70 so,duh.
