Springfield GI, good price?

Hi guys,

I have an opportunity to pick up a Springfield GI range kit for $550, is this a good price? Apparently has only a couple hundred rounds down the pipe, but I will have an opportunity to check the gun in person before I buy it and make sure it is in good condition... I think the range kit comes with a holster and two mag pouches.

Are these guns hard to come by in Canada? Can't seem to find a price on a new one of these, would opt for a new stainless one if the price was close.

Also, other than slide/frame fit, what should I be looking for in a used 1911? Shot them a bunch, but never owned one.

Buy it - it's that simple - if you don't there are half a dozen people on here that will, without seeing it. That is a gift.

I picked up a used one back in 2007 for $525, just the pistol nothing else, so that sounds like a good deal. they are hard to find these day, it seem's.

OK guys, I thought it sounded good... Will make sure it isn't too good to be true, but as it is from a reputable member of my range I think he just wants to sell it quick.

Thanks for the advice guys, will definitely carefully inspect before I buy. Should be able to put a couple mags through it too, make sure it runs good.
