Quick question for the M1 Garand experts out there,

Family friend offered to sell me a Springfield M1 from what I can tell by the SN made in 1944 (#308###x) all matching numbers, good bore and good condition overall.

Im don’t know much about M1’s what would be a fair value based off the above.

Thanks !

there is no such thing as all matching numbers.

you might get lucky and find all parts are made by Springfield... but even Springfield rifles left the factory with other manufacture parts in them.
and if it was ever rebuilt parts could be a mismatch

if you can get it for 8-900 or less Grab it

a new barrel if... if it need it 3-400 5 tops would make it a $1500 rifle

some have come up refinished to look like new ... new stock / repark / $1800 to 2100 and selling at that price

Grab it ... get a new recoil spring .. get some one that Knows M1 Garands to look at it
get some Approved M1 Garand ammo and go shoot it
