Hi there;

I recently acquired a very nicely tweaked Springfield P9 Standard 9mm that I intend to make my primary handgun as I move into competition shooting. The gun shoots extremly well as it was owned by, and worked on, by someone who really knew what he was doing and took the time to get things right.

Now to the problem. The P9 is a 'legacy' model for Springfield Armory - so is no longer supported for accessories and the bits I need are thin on the ground, at least based on my search so far. I'm looking to acquire a handful of additional 10-round mags and will also need an IPSC-suitable holster. As no one seems to make one anymore (if ever) for the P9, I'm hoping there's someone on the forum who owns, or has owned the model, and can provide guidance as to what holsters/mags will work with the P9, and where I can find them.

Thanks.

I have a P9 and had it since 1992. They are a CZ clone so the mags work. Well at least in mine. Freedom Ventures had mags(Tanfogilo) and holsters. CR speed holster will work also. Good luck and enjoy.

As well as above Baby eagle mags also fit. As far as holsters go it depends on if you want kydex or the cr speed mentioned above. You could contact Armco as he has carried all of the clones listed above and would be able to tell you which Kydex should be the closest.

Springfield P9 - accessories search continues

Thanks to all who responded to my original post regarding mags and a holster for the P9 Standard. I've followed up on all links and leads provided and think I've tracked down the mags. The holster search continues. I have a nylon unit with a thumb break that will do for now, but continue to hope I can find a kydex/injection molded model that will hold the 9 mm firmly in place, and not break the bank. So far, no joy (haven't heard back from Armco yet). The Fobus for the CZ does not fit, I do know that.

At last! Another P9 shooter...We can swap part sources.....:dancingbanana:

For a cheap kydex holster, get a Fobus for the SIG P226. I know of at least 2 people (me and one other) who are doing this. As a bonus for me, my SIG fits nicely in the holster, too...:p Do NOT try a CZ75 Fobus holster...I tried to jam my P9 in one, with no luck.
As for mags, I ordered some from Freedom Ventures. They are good mags, but they are pinned, which means that you can't get the followers out for cleaning. I'm trying to track down some Mec-Gar mags for either the Witness or the Tanfo or the Baby Eagle...When I find some, I'll let you know

Now, I have some questions for you, and any other P9 owners out there: Where can I get a set of either adjustable or Fibre Optic sights for a P9?

P9 - some success

Thanks Pl, for the tip on the Sig 226 holster. No Fobus in town here in Calgary, but picked up an Uncle Mike's in Kydex for the Sig at 911 Supply here and the P9 seats just fine. I hope to put it to the test in the next week or so.

As for mags, the search continues. Was prepared to order some CZ-suitable from Marstar but they apparently ran out between the time they replied to my email and the time I picked up the phone to order. In my wanderings around the various shops here in town though I did pick up a used mag for an S&W .40. I had taken my motley assortment of mags with me and the shop had a P9 .40 on hand so we stuck the Smith mag successfully in the .40, eyeballed it against the mags I had, loaded a couple of test 9mm casings into the mag and all seemed fine so I bought it (though I can return it if it doesn't work). Brought it home and it seats in my 9mm, so I'll give it a try at the range shortly. If it works, I'll let you know. One more option for us scavenging P9 owners.

Thanks again.
