Springfield Sears 87A

Buddy showed me some pictures of this Springfield 87A that a guy has for sale.

All the pictures of the 87A has a basic style stock. The 87M is very much different from this as well, which was made to look similar to a Garrand.

Any Identification on this rifle? From what I can tell, its just an 87A with a Custom stock. Any different explanation?

Can't see the lettering clearly. I can tell you that there are scads of variations of these rifles. Great old plinkers. My first one of this type was a Savage 6AB. I used it a bit for gopher shooting and didn't know that the cocking lever was spring loaded. Then I found a second one. Hmm. My buddy Deanner found a little ball and spring and presto! Fixed it.
 
If that's a custom stock they did an outstanding job on it.

Yes, they did make many stock variations so it's possible it's from a factory.
