Hello,

I am looking for a combo hunting and long range plinking rifle in 6.5CM. Saw an ad for the new SA Waypoint and it looks great, was thinking the steel barrel for sure, would have to try in person to decide adjustable stock vs fixed. It sounds like these rifles are not really available, does anyone know of any other similar rifles? I have seen custom rifles that are similar but they are 2-3 times the price :(

Thanks for your suggestions!
Chris

The Bergara HMR Pro and Christensen MPR (can also be had with either carbon wrapped or steel bareel) come to mind.
For any kind of precision shooting I prefer adjustable stocks.

I really does look nice but if I get another rifle for hunting / plinking it will almost certainly be the Sig Cross. AR ergos for quick off-hand shots, short OAL when folded, and very light weight when compared to other rifles.

Oh, and you might as well check out the Tikka T3 CTR while you’re at it. A little nose-heavy for hunting but it’ll do everything you ask of it from 0-800m … at least mine does. I’ve used my (.308) for long range shooting (600m is easy), hunting (bagged a buck from a tree stand) and even a 2-gun shoot. Very versatile. If I wanted to throw money at it the only thing I’d change would be the plastic stock. The ergos are very nice but composite stocks are much nicer and come with QD cups, etc.
