Can someone please tell me about this pistol?

Are they any good?
What’s the going rate for a slightly used one?
Let’s call it “as new” condition....

A guy I know is selling one but I don’t know squat about them.

Thanks

They never caught on quite like the Glocks or M&P's.. but if you can get one for a decent price I wouldn't worry about it either.
I still own one will a ka-zillion rounds through it, and it still works just fine.

It was my absolute favorite pistol I ever owned. I did a lot of different types of shooting with it. Never gave me any trouble. I actually liked it more than my glock

They were originally a Croatian HS2000 pistol. Springfield was so impressed that they wanted to put their name on it.

You can get decent used ones for$5-600.

They are super. Has a grip safety like the 1911. Accurate too. I regularly ring the 100 yd gongs with them. There are some after market parts you can get from Brownells. Best upgrade is the short reset trigger. After upgrades, my trigger is a short, smooth 2.5 #s.
I do like it way better than my Glock even tho Glock has way more upgrade options.

Only downside is that the extractor cannot be bought in Canada and if that ever goes, you gotta send the gun back to Springfield for service. But, the extractor looks very beefy so it likely will last if you don't use steel casings?

XD and Grand Power are some of the must underrated handguns IMO.
I own XDm in 9mm and I absolutely love it. Very well made and utterly reliable and accurate. I've shot XD tactical in 9mm as well and it's on my list of guns to buy for sure.

I had an XD 40. Very reliable pistol. Fed everything I put through it with the exception of some reloads. Trigger was a bit squishy and because I was use to steel 1911 style pistols I eventually sold it. Only plastic pistol I shot with any accuracy was a Glock 34. Although I do shoot a Browning Black Label Pro in .380. It's part plastic but shoots surprisingly well. Might have something to do with the 1911 configuration.
