Springfield XDM 9mm Good to go?

Dad got a XD40 and XD45 and I liked them.

I have an XD40....it has been a very good pistol . If you are thinking about buying a new Springfield in 9 mm ; I doubt if you will ever have any issues with the gun......

I had one briefly soon after they came out and wasn't that impressed. Found it kinda awkward looking/feeling gun, grip is too skinny at the top and way too long (designed to fit some 19 sound mags?). also slide is too tall and top heavy. Better options out there IMO.

I love mine, it's super accurate and quality made. The finish is beautiful too. And ergonomics is great.

The only downsides are:
- the mag release button is a bit stiff (but it's ambidextrous, which is not something you find in many pistols)
- the trigger is not great, but still pretty good, and if you don't like it there are two possible replacements. I am not planning to replace mine, it's not too bad from the box

Regarding mags - you can get them from site sponsor irunguns.us for reasonable price (they will pin them for you).

For me it's a keeper definitely. I've shot quite many pistols (including very expensive ones) and I like this one the most for sure.
I've shot few hundred rounds from mine and had zero problems.

Despite average trigger this pistol is easy to shoot accurately thanks to grip shape and texture, and probably thanks to very well made barrel.

I bought the xdm9 for my first pistol web they came out and no regrets. I went on to buy many more pistols including more of the xdm family lol. You will love it.

Probably one of the most hated pistols going, I've yet to see one make it more than 100 rounds without having troubles, and I've seen a lot at my classes. There are so many better guns out there.

I finally shot one and it's a nice gun. I had a Sig P320 and that had an amazing trigger. I'm torn. Glock just doesn't have ergos but I may try to shoot a 34. The mags on this xmd are sweet! It's like butter smooth loading and unloading mags. Slide release is big and I tend to create slide lock failure due to high riding thumbs. If I shoot quick gun tends to get away from me but I was shooting the 4.5 in one. I love the ergos not fat at all. I'm hoping to shoot it more before I commit. I'm still tempted by the Sig Sauer P320 as I shot it well but the med grip I'm no fan of. Small grip a impossible to find. Overall very impressed by the xdm.
