I'm curious as to hearing some real world reviews of the Springfield XDM from fellow CGNers. I really like the looks of the pistol, but no dealer that I know of within at least 500km of me has any that I can put my hands on, not to mention there's no such thing as a range to rent one at for a test run.
How well does it shoot? How's the trigger feel? Is the hammer status and loaded chamber indicator fairly rugged, or just some gimmicky extra moving parts destined to fail? (Insert regular review questions that i'm not asking here).
Would the match barrel and mold through backstraps be worth the extra cost of the XDM over the XD? I guess the better question would be is the pistol allowed for competition in the IPSC?
I've read the magazines and internet reviews, but would really like the opinion of people not paid to write a review on the pistol. Besides the match parts it's pretty well the same pistol as the XD, so I'd like to hear about either the XDM or XD.
BTW if I go for one it'd most likely be .45 acp if that matters.
Thanks.
