Synthetic 2-stroke oil, same stuff you would use in an outboard motor or chainsaw. Paraffin/wax works somewhat but the lubricating properties don't last and it seems to leave more buildup over time. Two-stroke engine oil is actually designed to provide lubrication after it has been burned.
Synthetic 2-stroke oil,I bought a quart of this a couple years ago and put a few ounces back which is a lifetime supply as all you need is about a much as will cover just the end of a Q Tip.

Been using some black sticks I got from LBT many yrs ago, something sticks in my mind that it could actually be Bullplate, but, I forget for sure. Veral doesn't really say what it is, but, it works.
I use Ester 100 A/C oil. It's available a t most good automotive parts stores. It has the same ester lubricant that synthetic 2 stroke oil has but none of the additives that can cause build up on molds. Nothing works better. Just don't get stuff with "ICE" on the bottle. It's an additive used to break the surface tension of the oil and a tiny drop on a q tip will migrate over the entire mold. I've also never used the stuff with dye in it so I don't know if it has any adverse properties as a mold lube either.
