I'm looking at one for my PR, however I'm a "lefty" any owner/operators able to tell me if I will be able to see the built in level? and overall satisfaction?
With a 34mm tube and a 56mm objective, on a "standard" barrel contour can you get away with the 30mm mount height?, using a 20 MOA base?

I have the cantilever mount on my AR, and it is blurry if I maintain my cheek weld. The AR mount has a tail though. I think it would be ok on mount that didn't have the cantilever tail.

I'm leaning towards the rings now as they are ambi and I would be able to use the built in level. I believe that the 1" height will give me enough to clear the barrel on the PR objective. Thanks for the reply.

Any separate ring(34mm) users out there? Just wondering with the 1" height how close a 56mm objective would be to the barrel? and any comments on the level? set-up? Thanks

I use the one piece mount, and can say that in normal shooting according to Spuhr you should be using your non-shooting eye to see the level, not repositioning your dominant eye. In that case I will tell you that no, you cannot see it with a left dominant eye, at least when I just tried now. If I dropped my eye and face I could, but it is also blocked by the eyebell of the scope from your dominant eye. Your right eye will not be able to see it either.
I would think maybe ask him if he can fab you one up with the level on the right side of the mount, rather than the left, so you can see it with your right eye. He is known for his customer service, so he should be able to.
Otherwise get no level and add one.
I would say that Spuhr is the best mount I have seen in some time, nicely made, great modularity, and when I got mine I bought spare parts too, which is easy to do, incase I lose a screw or the like.
If in doubt about height and clearance issues, I would suggest emailing him, he will answer in person. I do believe his mounts are all geared towards clearing the 56mm scopes, but in my case I mounted a 42mm, but it looks like a 56 would fit.

Thanks, I have a set of the rings on the way. I'm running a factory barrel so I think the 1" height will be a non issue. Did use the leveling tool or pass? if so comments?

I used the leveling tool on the first scope I had mounted on it, its a good enough idea and easy to use, but on my proper scope installation I did it using levels, the one in the mount and one on the caps.

I've taken delivery of the rings, as expected well made, they are very light which on the AICS build is a bonus. They recommend using Rosin on the rings to prevent movement?
Haven't heard of the stuff, but I picked some up.

I guess LAV has been using them on Tac TV and gives them a "G2G" rating!

So one more observation, the rings are quite wide and so are the turrets on the PR. The Stiller action has a "short" rail on the receiver.
Not much room to adjust for eye relief, that said based on the old mount, I may be G2G for the eye relief.
More to follow. These are awesome rings, however if you are using PR, S&B or USO, a longer rail would be preferable.
