SR/22 - 10/22 triggers

Hello,

Can anyone tell me if the trigger in the Ruger SR-22 the same as the trigger in the 10/22?

He shows off his SR-22 and even gives a parts list, one of which is a Timney Trigger.

And a search on the Timney Home site ( http://www.timneytriggers.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=frontpage&Itemid=1 ) shows that they only make 10/22 triggers and trigger groups, so from this I would conclude that the SR-22 takes 10/22 parts.

Chock full of after market goodies by Magpul, Dlask and Timney. VQ & Raunch Tactical as well.

The trigger in question is a complete drop in unit for the SR or 10/22. It replaces everything except the pins, magazine catch and spring and bolt release and spring. Installation is very easy and comes with complete instructions. I got mine from Mystic Precision , give Jerry a shout if your interested in getting one.

Yep, I have both, the sr22 is a 10/22.

Sounds like many after-market triggers can be a big improvement still.

It is the same trigger group as the 10/22. The housing is a polymer now and functions much the same as the older 10/22 metal ones. The claim is that the polymer ones are more durable if the rifle is dropped. The real reason for the change was rising costs for Ruger because the molds for aluminum housing wore out too fast and increased manufacturing costs. The Ruger lawyer comes with the trigger groups and he weighs around 7-8 lbs. Easily overcome with a little knowledge and a honing stone. I quickly changed mine out for an aluminum TG2000 VQ and keep the polymer original as a spare back up.

Yeah, I am thinking of putting a Volquartsen trigger group in there.

A limiter on the over travel is a nice additional as well as components that make the pull lighter and crisper. Not sure if that's included in your plans, but I thought I'd mention that.
