I just got my SR-22 and it's great other then I could use a little more length on the stock. Does anyone have this problem? I'm thinking that a stock pad could be a cheap answer, I don't want to spend too much. Does anyone know where i could find one in Canada? I hate ordering gun parts from the states, i had some issues with their export laws before and don't want the hassle. Thanks!!

I guess I should've mentioned that I'm 6'5" with an un-natural ability to scratch my knees without bending over. Doesn't seem to matter how I hold the rifle or how far ahead I mount the scope, it's just too close to get proper sight picture.

You may want to look into something like a Burris P.E.P.R or proper eye position ready scope mount. AR style platforms aren't the best for powered scopes. Like TDC said body position is everything, if you have that right and your still not getting the proper eye relief a P.E.P.R mount is ideal, positions the scope further ahead and higher off the rail. Check out "Mysticprecision" site sponsor, I got mine there.

My shooting buddy is the same height, he runs his AR with stock collapsed and a magnified optic (1-4). He also had 2 inches removed from his folding stock on his 10/22.

There's no way that would work for me. Granted this is my first AR style rifle and maybe I don't have perfect form, but with that short of stock, I'll be curled up like I was making out with it. The stock scoped in barely reaches my forearm, nevermind my shoulder.

I'm not following?

When I hold the gun by the grip, with the stock collapsed, the butt is halfway up my forearm. If I put the gun to my shoulder like that, I have zero eye relief. Not sure how your friend does it but it wouldn't work for me.

I'm not quite sure how he does it either, the chest rig and armor helps but it still looks too short. In your case, open the stock a couple positions.
