I have the SR22 with the non adjusable stock. Is it possible to make this stock adjustable? Can you buy the spring loaded screw to convert it and where to find it? Or do I have to order a new stock? thanks age

Anything is possible. I believe there was another member on here that posted the same thing and was going to try to do what you want. I would suggest just buying a new extension tube and stock.

I think the OP is looking for the most cost effective approch aside form that that buffer tube on the non colapasble version would need to be milled as there is no holes for the stock detent . If you could find a new buffer tube and a spring for the stock you would be laughing

There is a little roll pin that holds the stock body in place. Once removed the stock will slide freely on the extension tube. All you would need to do is drill the holes in the botton of the tube. IIRC, the back half of the tube is solid and not hollow all the way to the end. I believe the other member I was mentioning talked about drilling and tapping holes and using a hex head screw to hold it all in place. But you may be able to salvage the spring and plug from a real adjustable one.

Mine originally came with a "fixed" adjustable. I myself wonder about doing what you are thinking, but I ended buying a new set up.

It may have been me that posted the procedure for doing this in another forum. (Make sure the firearm is unloaded). You need a tiny number drill that fits the inside diameter of the roll pin and then drill through the tube to the backside. Flip it over and use the tiny hole to drill the backside out to 1/16" (size of the roll pin) down to the back side of the roll pin. Go slowely and pay attention because the roll pin is extremely hard and could break or ruin the drill bit once you reach it. Drive out the pin using a punch or the back side of a 1/16" bit. Now you can drill a series of holes down the tube 1/4" clearance for the bolt and set to whatever length you want. Its a bit of a PITA but well worth it. You could also check the diagram for this and get the appropriate bolt and spring to make it adjustable on the fly like the U.S. models once the holes are drilled. BTW, dont drill the extra holes any closer than about 1/2' to each other or you could weaken the length of the tube.

brownells has the springs and pin kit to allow the stock to adjust as for the buffer tube for some reason the car stock on these is mil spec so contatact alberta tactical rifle and they will et you up with a new buffer tube unless you know somebody with a milling machine

Have you done this?

From what I was told, unless you have the tools and are handy enough at using 'em. By the time you figure it all out, you may as well have just bought the collapsable stock.. That's what I did anyways :p

If you buy the spring and pin and a mil spec buffer tube you are golden. I made my own pin on the drill press and it worked great
