So I took out my new SR 22 today for the first time and it ran GREAT! I came home to clean it and was pissed that I had to remove my red dot that I had just sighted in. I've read that it can be disassembled without removing the top rail but I couldn't do it for the life of me. Has anybody had any luck taking theirs apart with the top rail still on??

I think (not entirely sure) that there is a link on youtube for it - read on CGN somewhere. Hope it helps, and let me know if you find it so I can do mine to! lol

I've been searching the internet and I've found a few sites that say it can be done. Apparently once you wear off the coating on the inside of the receiver it makes disassembly with the top rail on possible. I'll find out next time I clean my gun.

I tried to take mine apart with the rail on and there was no way it was working.
I'm thinking of zipping off the last ¾" of the rail so that it'll pivot out. The tail part is useless anyway, aside for looks.

Very easy to do without having to take rail off everytime. The first time you will have to take top rail off receiver, pull receiver out then re install rail on the receiver , make shure the safety button is somewere in the middle ,then push receiver with top rail firmly into the housing Rear end first then pushing down on the front (it will go ).This way is much easier instead of trying to pull them apart.do this a few times till warn in . Then will come apart easy .Once the finish wares down a little your good to go bro.

You almost go straight down when installing , don't tilt to much and when removing don't angle it to much almost straight up.

Oh , make shure safety is pushed in somewhere in the middle and insert the rear of receiver in first.
