Regarding a factory fixed stock on a SR-22..... How the F%$#K does one remove it ? Did they come from the factory welded, glued, locktite, 800lb fat lady tit tighten it on or what ? Whats the secret to removing ?

The older models didn't. As for removing the butt stock... I have no freakin clue haha. I have a sr-22 with a collapsible stock and I know you CAN remove the butt stock off the old non collapsible version... It looks like it is just threaded on there.... Monkey wrench? lol:confused:

If you look close there is a small pop rivet just forward of the but pad. To remove it you have to take a small punch a give it a good smack then it slides right off. The fixed stock on the Ruger is not pre drilled like most buffer tubes so if you want to make it adjustable you need a new buffer tube. If you really want to use the factory Ruger but pad you need to purchase a buffer tube and collapsable but pad package them swap out the spring kit. Sorry if this sounds confusing I'm on my iPhone. I'll post pics for u in the morning. It's simple and cheap to do.

Yes it's threaded on and that just screws out I think the op is talking about removing the but pad from that the tube. All collapsable pads can be removed by pulling outward and sliding them off but the factory fixed stock Ruger will not. You have to punch in the rivet.

If you want to take of the hole assembly ... use a brass punch (if you don't have a proper ar wrench) to loosen up the locking ring, and then unscrew the tube from the rear of the chassis.
