Fun match! Thanks Tim!

Valuable lesson learned during that one: I have a broken shell extractor and an Otis cleaning kit in a pouch in the back of my vest (and other useful tools). Thought that I was prepared for anything that could go wrong on the field; that I had what I needed to fix just about any problem quickly on the line, in the butts or behind the firing line if need be. Never considered having to knock out a bullet from a squib load and guess what happened on my 5th sighter at the beginning of M4 (500M run down)? Yep... and had it not been for one of the CF guys passing me a cleaning rod, that whole stage would have been down the toilet. Thanks man!

I will definitely be adding one of those to the pouch on the vest...

Sounds like you needed my "Oh Shzt Kit" that I demonstrate at my M14 Clinics! Yup, I keep a cheap US Army jointed cleaning rod in my kit. :D

Been there, done that!

Cheers,
Barney

An excellent match but lots of newbies and thus some inevitable target irregularities (short exposures, movers going up-down along with side to side, crooked targets, forgetting to patch the target, etc) that I think contributed to lower scores throughout the entire spectrum of shooters.
Learning the matches also means learning to do butts, and taking the matches seriously means on both ends (firing and targetting).
