quick dumb question. My sr22 comes w/ a factory lock that prevents the bolt from moving forward..basically locks the action up. is this equivalent to trigger lock in the eyes of the cfo or inspectors? I also have it in a gun cabinet just in case

The supplied Ruger lock is a better option because with only the trigger lock, you can theoretically still pull the action open and chamber a round (with no way to fire it, mind you). I'm guilty of using a trigger lock on mine, mostly because I don't want the big cumbersome Ruger lock banging up the finish on my SR-22.

yeah i was a little worried about the finish. Anyway..took the SR out yesterday and put a few hundred rounds through ... lots of fun. pretty accurate...although i was only at a 25 yard range...groupings about the size of a quarter/loonie

pwong, as I am sure you are already aware, the top rail on the SR-22 has a habit of working loose. This is really frustrating when you're out shooting and don't have the proper torx with you to re-torque! I check it after every shooting day now.
