Ok... I've got one of the earlier SR22's with the fixed butt stock. I don't care if it is not quick adjustable but some adjustment would be nice. For example I use a butt stock extender with my AR15 A2 stock (I long a long length of pull) and I want the SR22 to have the same length of pull.
I installed a spare A2 butt with extender on the SR22 which fixed that issue but I also will be building another AR15 lower and want that butt stock back for it. Also with the extended length A2 butt the length of pull is way too long for my wife or many others to shoot it.
So... I sat down and had a close look at the fixed SR22 butt and it turns out that there is a small roll pin holding the butt to the buffer tube even if you remove the bolt that holds the fake adjustment lever in place. A bit of jiggery pokery and the butt was forceably removed from the buffer tube. With the pin removed the butt is now free to slide up and down the buffer. The lever bolt will hold the butt in the original position and with the use of a drill and a 1/4-20 NC tap it will also hold it in several more positions of my choice. There is loads of extra metal in the buffer and it doesn't have to hold a buffer and spring so you don't have to be too delicate with the drilling and tapping.
Now with the use of an allen key I can change lengths and for me this beats spending more money on a complete adjustable butt assembly that I don't really need on this rifle. In fact I can now set the length of pull longer than any stock adjustable butts will allow so I'm very happy with my meager efforts tonight
I hope this is of use to someone on here.
