SS major mag capacity

Hi, this is out of the rule book.... 19. Magazines accessible to a competitor during a COF must not contain more than 8 rounds (for Major powerfactor) or 10 rounds (for Minor power factor) at the Start Signal.
I have Tripp Cory mags, which hold 9 rounds and I am shooting major power factor. The way I read the rule, as long as I only have 8 rounds in my mags when the buzzer goes off I am good to go, they do not have to be able to only hold 8 rounds.
Am I correct. Thanks.

As long as you dont put more then 8 rounds in the mag your ok

You can have one mag loaded to 9 round before the buzzer goes off.....use it as a first mag ot LAMR command.
I use 10-10-RG mags in my 1911 with no problems.....

I was running tripp cobra system mags in classic major for a long time.
They are 10 capacity, i would load them to 8.
I would never load one to 9 for LAMR, don't know if it's even allowed but don't go there.
When in classic major in lvl lll matches, there are a few people counting your shots, best be sure all your mags are loaded to 8 and don't screw up that part.
Never hapenned to me, but people we're counting none the less.

It does say, no more than 8 rounds "during" the COF, so I would think loading one mag to 9 for LAMR would be within the rules.

yep, same way you can take a mag out of your front pocket/front magnet during LAMR

I used 9 round mags when I did major, easier reload but not such a fight to get into the box

Why would you risk the brainfart and do it?
All other divs gotta carry a spare round in backpocket to load up to 11, just do the same.
