Who’s loading Staball Match in there 308Win target rifles ? How’s it comparing to Varget for you ? FPS & Accuracy RJ

been using it for a while now and getting excellent results. My rifle seems to prefer the Staball Match over the Varget. I have a drop of about 50fps from Varget but my accuracy, ES and SD all improved.

Most YouTube videos I saw didn’t see great results, so I never tried it.

I actually have used it in my 308 hunting rifle, just to burn up some odds and ends 165 & 180gr bullets I had laying around. I can post up my powder charges / speeds later if it helps anybody

My experience has been the same as Gaudzy,a drop in speed from other powders(CFE223/TAC) but good accuracy,ES and SD's.
I'm using it in a .223 rem.

im doing load development for savage 10TR 308, using Hornady HPBT Match 168gr.
showing promising results (for me).
RP brass,
43.1gr Stab M,
remington LRP,
COAL 2.810

Ruger m77 Scout 18.7" barrel

StaBALL Match 46.3grs / 165gr Nosler solid base BT ~ 2633 fps

StaBALL Match 44.9grs / 180gr Sierra Gameking BTSP ~ 2544 fps

I tested Stabl Match in two 308 rifles this week. At 1000 yards, with Berger 155s, 47.5 gr averaged 3055 fps with excellent SD. (32" barrel)

In a 26" barrel'

168 MK 44gr 2738 fps
210Mk 43 gr 2527 fps

Being a ball powder, I will eventually compare a stnd primer to a magnum or a Winchester standard.

It would be nice to have an accurate load made with a Dillon. Ball powder meters so well.

sorry. Have been busy with work and was focused on my 223 for the longest while.
Will update when i can.


this was back in december. 100 yds at silverdale. 5 rds out of RP brass and 5 of lapua. Yes i pulled a shot with the lapua. Im still a novice.
those are 2 inch circles, for reference.

10tr in mdt lss xl chassis, bipod and rear squeeze bag.
