Stag 10 Build questions

Hey all, I'd like to start by saying I'm happy to finally be a member of the forum, and I'm not sure why it took so long for me to join. In the past I've been partial to m14 builds, and bolt guns, and I'll openly say I know nothing about AR platform rifles.

I recently came across a sweet deal on a LNIB stag 10, with a few small upgrades. I'd like to ditch the collapsible stock and put a fixed stock on it (either a Magpul UBR, or keep it simple with an A2 stock). If I move over from a carbine buffer tube to an A2 buffer tube, do I need to change any other parts in the recoil system? I'm sorry if this has been asked before, maybe I just suck at using the search function.

If you want to go to an a2 or something similar, just get the Aero Precision 308 rifle length buffer kit. Comes with everything you need so you’re not trying to piece meal a parts kit together and end up with the incorrect parts.

If you go with the UBR you can keep the existing buffer/recoil spring, and it comes with its own buffer tube. It replaces the buffer tube, castle nut, and end plate.

It also comes with the correct length of spacer to utilize the original buffer and spring or a silent capture spring system like the jp or armaspec

Magpul PRS stock goes on existing extension and makes it fixed stock, but with adjustable pull length and cheek riser.

Hey everyone! Thanks for all the help, it really cleared a lot of it up for me. Now to just pick between the PRS or the UBR ( I really wish price wasn't a factor!)

You will also need a castle nut wrench to remove the castle nut on the factory buffer tube if you go with the UBR2. I just took an old Ikea Allen key, marked the spot and drilled through the allen key and tapped in a drift pin to make a wrench as most armourers wrenches are a ridiculous $100. It is a great quality stock, no rattles or cheap plastic feeling locks up solid.
