Yup primer pieces,

I am willing to bet you are firing 308Win threw that rifle. It's much higher pressure than 7.62 NATO. Watch for pumvhured primers and blower primer cups.

Could potentially damage the rifle, but that particular gun can take a beating.

If they are pieces of primer check your firing pin hole for fragments that have been pushed into it and almost wrapped around the firing pin. They'll be very thin but a dental pick can pull it out.

I had a bunch of old crappy milsurp 308 and I had them do that to a m305 after a couple primers pierced.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the responses. I cleaned out a bunch of junk out of the STAG10, which honestly surprised me considering I have only shot Match Ammo through it. Disassembled the BCH and it was filthy. Will need to probably get a new fire pin retaining pin as well.

You are piercing primers. If you check the casings you will see that the centre of the primer where the firing pin is striking is missing on some. If you have several different brands doing this there is a problem with the size of the firing pin hole or the shape/length of the firing pin. Also note that getting these into the bolt is very hard on the firing pin and it may now be bent of chipped.
