Howdy,

I've read that the Stag 4R comes with a removable carry-handle. My question ... what's underneath it? Is the receiver already fitted with some kind of scope-mounting rail like a Weaver or a Picatinny? If it is not so-equipped, what are my best options for mounting a compact AR15-friendly scope?

I think I'll like the option of using the handle iron-sights one day, and then switching to a low receiver-mounted scope on another day ... fully aware that the scope will likely need to be re-zeroed each time it is re-mounted.

Many thanks.

I believe it's a standard flattop configuration like the model 2 with a detachable carry handle mounted on the rail.

Sorry. No comprendo ...

Hi again,

Sorry, but (not to offend anybody) none of the responses so-far made any sense to me.

I'm just a retired guy in the woods who appreciates interesting / historical firearms... not a real afficianado (sp?).

If you look closely at the second picture you can see the M1913 rail underneath the carry handle.
