how do the two rear sight options on the Stag AR15 (model 2R16SE) differ, and which is better for what?

as far as i can tell, they're both flip-up type and the ARMS has .5MOA adjustment and a notch on top of the ring for 50m-and-closer stuff. is that pretty well the only diff?

i believe the below is what the two sights look like - someone correct me if i'm wrong

Troy on left, ARMS on right

On a 16", I believe the Troy is about 1/3MOA per click, the ARMS #40L is about 3/4MOA per click.

The picture shown is the ARMS #40LP, 1/2MOA per Click, which is not what we offer (ARMS #40L vs ARMS #40LP).

That notch on top of the L and LP is for 500m.

Other than that, they're both solid rear sights. The ARMS provides a little lanyard for the screw nut, which is nice. The troy is quicker (IMO) to flip between the apertures.

Looking through them and shooting results should be six of one, half dozen of the other.

Best regards,
DT

can you double-check?? the options on the site say:

Rear Sight
Troy Industries Rear Fldg BattleSight Incl.
ARMS#40LP Low Profile (+$30.00)
No Rear Sight (-$125.00)

any idea which one is flatter and takes up less space for when i want to mount a simple red-dot optic? this type:

Absolutely either will work under that sight. Height is more of an issue under magnified optics with detachable (hopefully) scope mounts where the rear of the scope sits over the BUIS. I'm pretty certain that both fit under the vast majority of scopes/mounts, but I'd guess the ARMS #40L is the absolute lowest. I have a Troy Battle Sight under a Nikon Tactical with an AD-RECON 30mm mount. Works great.

The L vs LP on the options. It will be fixed. It is the "Low Profile" which for us is VS the ARMS#40. I think LP meant low profile when input, not a deliberate misrepresentation of the other ARMS #40LP 1/2 MOA.

Cheers,
DT

The ARMS sits lower? Good to know, I have an IOR 1-4x24 in an ADM mount and the ocular is huge. Can't fit a Matech under it. Thought that the Troy was about the only one that would fit, nice to know that I have another option as well.
