Search function isn't cooperating. Whats your opinions on the stag arms model 4. I'm looking for my first "black" rifle and this one has caught my eye. My preferences are 20" barrel with adjustable stock, quality is my main concern and my budget is around $1500. Let me know what you guys think.

Cheers

That's as close as you'll get to a C7 - the stock can be added at any time, simply remove the existing stock, thread on the new receiver extension and add the buffer, spring and stock itself (under $200 and 10 minutes with hand tools). The carry handle sights are good to start. Walter (ArmsEast) gives a lifetime warranty on new Stags and he makes sure that the rifles are correct when leaving. If I was in the market for a C7 clone, that's what I'd buy.

Stag is an excellent choice for an AR, the fit and finish is top notch, they are back by Arms East a very solid Canadian dealer.

I shot a 565 at the BCRA Service Rifle Championships in June using a brand new Stag while using the deliberates to zero. My old one has gone 12000 rnds with 2 stoppages including a bad primer and me not seating a mag. Reliability and accuracy I have had no issues.

I have a Stag AR from AE and couldn't be happier. This rifle is reliable and has not let me down, not once. Tack on the lifetime warranty and you got yourself a great deal in general. AE is a great company and their inventory reflects that as well IMO
